Tumblarity?

As someone who develops algorithms on a regular basis in my daily work, I have to admit that the algorithm that determines “tumblarity” has to have some flaws in it.  I hadn’t posted a single thing to this “blog” in a least a few months, but my “tumblarity” went from zero to 3 (is that good?).

Also, why does everything need to turn into a competition? I kind of liked the fact that I could just never post here and just consume the content of other people who produced it.  Now everytime I go to my dashboard to consume that content, I have to look at an actual statistic telling me what a non-contributing waste of space I am.

Hey Tumblr, thanks for creating a feature for only people who are self involved and require justification of their internet existence.  I get the impression that that feature will only drive people to produce massive amounts of content just in hopes of increasing their “tumblarity”.  I have already seen this amongst some people who intermitently produced really good content, but now just dump bucketloads of webxcrement through their T1’s.  Now I have to unfollow them.  It’s me, not you.  Sorry.
